To me, Mustard Pimp are one of the reigning kings in the Fidget scene. Their style is wacky and face paced with dirty electro synth styles and ghetto vocals. I can’t get enough of them. Hopefully they will come back to the UK soon and destroy some clubs speakers, hopefully near to Brighton or London! I thought no better headline than the name of the man himself, JFB. Simply one of the best turntablists I have heard. This guy seems to be able to take anything, cut it up, reverse it and scratch it with scissors, yet it still comes out sounding good. 

JFB reigns from Brighton, England. He has been on the decks for over 10 years now, starting out as a Jungle/Drum’n'Bass DJ playing on pirate radio and going on to play venues all over the world as well as winning The Uk Dmc Championship 2007 & Vestax Championship 2003 which is taken as no surprise when you see him hands on.

JFB doesn’t only come to play out a standard DJ Set either, he and Beardyman run one of the most groundbreaking nights on the planet. Battlejam. Using a ridiculous amount of equipment JFB and Beardyman create improvised music on the spot using samples from the crowd and guest musicains. JFB can record anything on the spot and instantly scratch it, the most basic but efective example is Beardyman beatboxing and JFB recording then beatjuggling or scratching whilst Beardyman layers it with something else to create original material in a live jam session.

JFB is a man of many talents and producing good Drum’n'Bass tunes is one of them. He has hooked us up with a mix to download, but make sure you check out his Myspace and BeatPort for the latest tracks, news & info on JFB.

Hannah Holland, host of Batty Bass, Trailer Trash resident DJ and manages to grab a regular slot with Bugged Out, which is where I first saw her. NYE at Fire in Vauxhall within the crowds of the famous Lightbox room. I had no idea at the time who this DJ was, but frankly I didn’t care. The tunes coming out from the speakers were massive, she had everyone on the floor going crazy, let alone that, she looked like she was having the most fun out of everyone behind the decks. It was after this that I took it on myself to find out who she was! So here I am bringing her to you, if you haven’t already heard of Hannah Holland I suggest you download this mix very fast, head over to her Myspace and get yourself down to the next party, which is on 12th December. I think it is rare that you share an almost perfect taste in music with a DJ. When listening to mixes I usually have one or two songs at least that I’m a bit unsure of, or in a club, the songs that I don’t mind missing to go for a quick ciggy and have a random chat with someone in the smoking area! This never seems to be the case with Mr French. Every mix he uploads I get along with, perfectly. His song choice and flow on a mix is ideal, for me anyway!  This is why I’m posting about him. I’ve never had the chance to see him live in a club because we live at seperate ends of the country, but that doesn’t take anything away from the way he mixes.

This is one of my favourite mixes by him. A nice fidget/ghetto-tech sound.

Their from the Netherlands, so they are bound to be slightly crazy. Mightyfools are currently on tour across America, then heading to Europe for a few shows. Unfortunately only coming to England for one show on 11th December and to rub it in, it is in Leeds.

Their bouncy fidget sound is awesome though and it is well worth checking out the Myspace for some more tunes and tour dates! Hopefully they will sail back over to England soon and play somewhere a bit closer to home!  I’ll leave you with a couple of their remixes, but I definatley recommend spending the time to keep track on these guys. They deserve to be huge!

These guys definatley rank up in my top 3 producers. Without a doubt. Once again though, they have never yet come to play any club in England. Someobody really needs to get on this and get a number of DJs over here quick! I’m talking about Stereoheroes. French Fidget at its best, or should I say Fidget at its absoloute best.
